ABOUT CATHERINE

Catherine Nyiha is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya admitted to the bar in 1993. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi with a postgraduate diploma from the Kenya School of Law.

She joined Nyiha, Mukoma and Co. Advocates as a partner after working for 18 years (1993-2012) as a State Counsel in the Attorney-General’s Chambers, where she specialized in Compliance and Regulation, ensuring that companies, partnerships, hire purchase businesses, books and newspapers, sports bodies, religious organisations, welfare associations, private members’ clubs, and political parties in the Republic of Kenya complied with their parent statutes. She also mediated when disputes arose among the members of the said bodies.

She headed the Official Receiver Section in the Attorney-General’s office (2004-2012).

She has attended and completed the Programme for Management Development (Strathmore Business School, 2010), attended and completed the Government of Kenya Senior Leadership Development Programme (Kenya Institute of Administration, 2011), and attended and completed the Women in Leadership Programme (Strathmore Business School, 2013). She is currently pursuing a Masters in Law in International Business Law.
